Brana is a spacious and fully restored 2-storey 18th century stone farmhouse with a swimming pool, set in its own rural valley in the heart of Gascony, 4 bedrooms sleeping 6/8 people + Baby. Brana was built in the 18th century and is a two-storey farmhouse in the traditional Gascon style. The house accommodates six people in three double/twin bedrooms, with an additional small attic children’s room with two twin beds. The house is made of an attractive honey-coloured stone, and has an open barn attached. The house is furnished with antiques and there is a refreshing outdoor swimming pool and eating area for the lingering evenings you will experience during your stay. The house is set on top of a small hill in the heart of the idyllic Gascon countryside, and is surrounded by fields of corn and sunflowers in an area renowned for its Armagnac and the birth place of D’Artagnan. Brana is set in one hectare (two acres) of gardens and pasture, with many large trees providing shade and privacy. Inside, the rooms have ceilings supported by wooden beams. Shuttered windows, thick stone walls and original tiled floors, keeping the house pleasantly cool in the summer and warm in the winter (with a little help from the central heating). The basic farmhouse kitchen is equipped with all you will need for your stay and has exposed stone walls and wooden beams, which makes for a warmly traditional feel. It connects to a dining room, which has a high-beamed ceiling and a big table to seat ten guests. The living room is ideal for relaxing, with a large open fireplace. There is another open fire in the study, which has plenty of well-stocked bookcases.
